- A Long Walk
The Long Walk, which runs from Windsor Castle's George IV Gateway to Snow Hill in Windsor Great Park is a bit of a puzzle from the magickal point of view, a sort of Stonehenge reimagined by John Nash.
Clearly druidic in inspiration, it is aligned with the winter sun: on the morning of the winter solstice, from the window of the royal apartments, the sun would be seen to rise directly behind the equestrian statue of George III. The monarchy presumably harvest the resulting earth energies, renewing and consolidating their powers with the turning year.
