A Silent Film are an English alternative rock band from Oxford. The band consists of Robert Stevenson, Ali Hussain and Spencer Walker. Their first album, The City That Sleeps, was released on 6 October 2008, with one reviewer describing it as "a surefire winner".

"A Silent Film" is a Oxford four-piece piano rock English based band formed in 2005. They have released their first EP in 2007, The Projectionist, recorded in two months in northern France. Their debut album, The City That Sleeps, was released in October 6th, 2008 in Europe. They have been compared to bands like Coldplay and Radiohead.
