Act were a short-lived synthpop group signed to ZTT Records in the late 1980s, and comprising British musician Thomas Leer and German ex-Propaganda vocalist Claudia Brücken. Besides synthpop and disco, the group were also influenced by psychedelic rock and musical theatre. Lyrically, their songs tended to be concerned with decadence and the moral bankruptcy. The band dissolved shortly after the release of their first album Laughter, Tears and Rage in 1988.

Shannon Leigh Brown, born in July 23, 1973, is an American country music singer from Spirit Lake, Iowa. A member of the MuzikMafia, she has released one studio album to date, and has charted four singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts; two additional albums were recorded but not released. In addition, she has contributed a song to the soundtrack for the 1998 film Happy, Texas. After several years of touring the Midwest with her father running the soundboard and her mom running lights, Shannon decided to make the move to Nashville, Tennessee. She paid the bills singing songwriters' demo sessions and managed to maintain her touring schedule of 180 dates a year. Her vocal stylings and industrious approach did not go unnoticed. She is married to video director Shaun Silva who directed the video for "Corn Fed."
