Achatinidae is a family of large sized tropical land snails. The family includes some 13 genera. Primarily endemic in Africa, the snails were introduced into many tropical countries worldwide with fatal consequences due to lack of natural predators.
Living in Europe it's easy to keep them as pets in a terrarium.
