He was also famous for his on-screen vehemence, often genuinely hitting co-stars during scenes of violence. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest male stars in the history of Arabian cinema.
- Ahmed Zaki was Prime Minister of the Republic of Maldives from 1972 to 1975. In March 1975, newly elected Prime Minister Zaki was arrested in a bloodless coup and was banished to a remote atoll. Observers suggested that Zaki was becoming too popular and hence posed a threat to the Nasir faction.
