Who is Alastor?

Alastor a.k.a. Trond Bråthen, better known by his stage name "Trondr Nefas", was a Norwegian black metal lead singer and guitarist. He started the band Urgehal with Enzifer in 1992. He participated in seven studio albums with Urgehal before his death in 2012 as well as being involved in several other recording bands like Beastcraft etc.

"Alastor" a.k.a. "Alastor, or The Spirit of Solitude" is a poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley, written from 10 September to 14 December in 1815 in Bishopsgate, London and first published in 1816. The poem was without a title when Shelley passed it along to his contemporary and friend, Thomas Love Peacock. The poem is 720 lines long. It is considered to be one of the first of Shelley's major poems.


Alastor can refer to a number of people and concepts related to Greek mythology: Alastor was an epithet of the Greek god Zeus, according to Hesychius of Alexandria and the Etymologicum Magnum, which described him as the avenger of evil deeds, specifically, familial bloodshed. As the personification of a curse, it was also an epithet of the Erinyes. The name is also used, especially by the tragic writers, to designate any deity or demon who avenges wrongs committed by men.
