Butera is an Italian town and a comune in the province of Caltanissetta, in the southwestern part of the island of Sicily. It is bounded by the comuni of Gela, Licata, Mazzarino, Ravanusa and Riesi. It has a population of 4,932 and is 49 km from Caltanissetta, the province's capital.
Butera is a chain of supermarkets in the Chicago area. Butera Market was founded in 1968 under the name Butera Finer Foods by Paul Butera Sr. and his brother Joe Butera. Butera now boasts 9 locations in the suburban Chicago area, several of which offer services including Charter One bank branches.
