  1. J. X. Williams a.k.a. Harry Whittington was an American mystery novelist and one of the original founders of the paperback novel. Born in Ocala, Florida, he worked in government jobs before becoming a writer.
  2. J. X. Williams a.k.a. Andrew J. Offutt: Andrew Jefferson Offutt was an American science fiction and fantasy author. He wrote as John Cleve, Andrew J. Offutt, A. J. Offutt, and Andy Offutt. His normal byline, andrew j. offutt, has all his name in lower-case letters. He wrote dozens of erotic novels under pen-names and house-names such as John Cleve, Jeff Douglas, Farrah Fawkes, Baxter Giles, J. X. Williams, and Turk Winter.
  3. J. X. Williams: J.X. Williams is a pseudonym used by several different authors during the 1960s for many adult novels. Ed Wood's film Parisian Passions employed this pseudonym, and it had been used by author Victor J. Banis, among others.
  4. J. X. Williams: J.X. Williams is an American avant-garde filmmaker and director. Numerous critics have cited him to be one of the most influential figures in American avant-garde cinema. Williams was an innovative cult director for several notorious exploitation films produced in the 1960s and 1970s. Tarantino, Scorsese, Waters and other directors acknowledge a huge creative debt to Williams. His films are rarely exhibited due to legal issues and the poor condition of surviving prints.
