Khaliji is the style of music native to the Arab states of the Persian Gulf (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE). It is characterized by heavy use of the traditional tabl drum and music of the oud.

Arabic, Gulf Spoken Language: Gulf Arabic is a variety of the Arabic language spoken around the shore of the Persian Gulf such as in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Some notable characteristics that set it apart from other Arabian dialects are the presence of Persian loanwords and a pronunciation of k as ch; q as g; and, in some instances, the pronunciation j as y.
