Lictor is a fictional character from the 1944 film Fiddlers Three.


Lictor: A lictor was a Roman civil servant tasked with attending and guarding the magistrates of the Roman Republic and Empire who held imperium, the right and power to command; essentially a lictor performed the role of a bodyguard. Lictors are known to have been first employed during the Roman Kingdom age. According to Roman historian Livy, the custom of deploying lictors may have originated at an earlier time in the Etruscan civilization.
