  1. Lyase: In biochemistry, a lyase is an enzyme that catalyzes the breaking of various chemical bonds by means other than hydrolysis and oxidation, often forming a new double bond or a new ring structure. The reverse reaction is also possible.
  2. Lyase a.k.a. Lyase language: Lyase, or Gwamhi-Wuri, is a Kainji language of Nigeria. It is named after its two dialects, which have only slight differences. "Lyase-Ne" means 'mother togue'.
