Marcy is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 8,982 at the 2010 census. The town was named after Governor William L. Marcy. It lies between the cites of Rome and Utica. The Erie Canal passes through the southern part of the town.

  1. Marcy a.k.a. Marcella Detroit is a soprano vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. She released her debut album Marcella in 1982 to little success before she joined Shakespears Sister with ex-Bananarama member Siobhan Fahey. Detroit sang the lead vocals on their biggest hit, "Stay", which was #1 in the United Kingdom for 8 consecutive weeks. Since leaving the band in 1993, Detroit has maintained a successful solo career, and from 2002 to 2007 fronted her own self-titled blues band.

Marcy is a late maturing white potato variety. It was originally bred in 1990 at Cornell University from a cross between the Atlantic variety and Q155-3 variety.
