Who is Oropesa?

Oropesa a.k.a. Lisette Oropesa is an American operatic soprano, who was raised in Baton Rouge, where she studied at Louisiana State University. Her parents are both emigrants from Cuba, and her mother, Rebeca Oropesa, is a soprano who was heard in productions at Loyola University of the South and LSU, before she decided on raising a family.


Oropesa: An Oropesa is a streamlined towed body used in the process of minesweeping. The role of the Oropesa is to keep the towed sweep at a determined depth and position from the sweeping ship.
