The Ax


"The Ax" a.k.a. "The Axe" is a French-Belgian-Spanish film from 2005 by Greek-French director Costa-Gavras, starring José Garcia, Karin Viard and Olivier Gourmet. The film is an adaptation of the 1997 novel The Ax by Donald E. Westlake, and follows the attempts by a laid-off employee to get back on his feet. He eventually becomes so desperate that he is prepared to kill his job competitors.

Who is The Ax?

The Ax a.k.a. Larry Hennig: Larry "The Axe" Hennig is an American retired professional wrestler. He is the father of the late "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, the grandfather of Joe "Curtis Axel" Hennig, and is best known for his work in the American Wrestling Association, National Wrestling Alliance and World Wide Wrestling Federation. Hennig was also known for his muscular neck which, to this day, measures 22 inches.
