- HaandBryggeriet Odin's Tipple
A bottle of Odin's Tipple from HaandBryggeriet in Drammen, Norway, at the brewery.
Odin's Tipple is an 11% abv imperial stout brewed with, in the words of the brewer, "a ridiculous amount of chocolate malt". It poured thick and pitch black into the glass with a dark brown head. Aroma was very rich, with elements of coffee, cocoa, molasses and some bitter hops. The mouthfeel was rich, full bodied, with a lovely, velvety smooth carbonation. Flavor picked up many of the same characters as the aroma; a big malt body, chocolate, coffee and a good dose of roasted malts and bittering hops to balance it. Wonderfully balanced with a long, long bittersweet aftertaste. This is a great imperial stout.
